Trying to go through some sample packets

St. Ives Refresh & Revive Pear Nectar & Soy Body Lotion

If you’ve been keeping up with my empties, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of St. Ives body lotions. The Refresh & Revive line is what I’ve been using lately and it’s absolutely perfect during the summer months. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion

This was a great little sample packet that lasted me two days – perfect for traveling! Slightly thicker than a lotion but lighter than a cream, this moisturized really well when my skin was feeling a bit dry and flaky.

Vichy Ideal Body Aqua Sorbet

A super hydrating body lotion that worked amazing on my skin!

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate

Full review here.

Shiseido Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate

A cool and refreshing eye concentrate with the same properties as Ultimune.

Shiseido Future Solution LX Extra Rich Cleansing Foam

I’m not normally a big fan of cleansing foams but this was very light and left me with a good feeling of clean. I think the Future Solution LX line is too rich for me so I’m glad for the chance to try it via sample packets.

Shiseido Future Solution LX Concetrated Balancing Softener

An amazing softener that feels even better than Ibuki! As above, the Future Solution LX line is too rich for me so I am happy with the Ibuki and White Lucent lines.

Sephora Express Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes

Did not like these at all and struggled to finish the packs. The exfoliating side is too scratchy and actually hurts, even when using light pressure. I ended up using only the soft side to remove as much makeup as I could, and even the, it wasn’t super effective. I used this as a first pass, then used another facial cleanser to remove the rest.

Mostly skincare these last few months

La Roche-Posay Anthelios dermo-kids 50 SPF

I love this stuff for my toddler. We went through 2 bottles of it last summer and we’re on our second bottle of it this summer. I apply it generously in the morning before sending him off to daycare. His teachers do a second application with a different sunscreen prior to afternoon play time (the bottle gets kept at daycare). He’s tanned but not super tanned. This stuff is light and doesn’t feel overly greasy, which makes application really easy. I also like that after application, he’s not going to leave a ton of residue all over the car seats. Love this stuff and will continue to buy!

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-fluid lotion 60 SPF

I got this for myself because I wanted to find a sunscreen that was light and non-greasy. This was recommended to me by the beauty consultant at Shoppers Drug Mart. She told me a lot of golfers purchase this because it’s so light but the coverage is so great. I find it perfect for my face but also use it on my arms and legs too. A little pricey for such a small bottle, but since it is so light, I find myself reaching for it to apply more often than with other sunscreens.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Protective Emulsion W

Full review here.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion W

This one is like the protective emulsion, but a bit thicker and more moisturizing for night time use.

Lancôme Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within Makeup

Finally finished this bottle! I feel like I’ve hit a huge milestone finishing this one up (my 4th bottle!). I’m currently contemplating buying my 5th bottle vs trying a different foundation altogether. It’s been quite a number of years sticking with Lancôme Teint Miracle!

Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Shampoo

I got these minis from the Hilton Hotel a few years ago and had stashed them away for “when I go traveling”. Well, as you know, the stash is a little too well hidden so when I finally found them, it’s high time I use them! The shampoo lathers quite rich and smells amazing. Hair is quite squeaky clean.

Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Conditioner

The conditioner brings some moisture back into the hair after the conditioner. Together, they make for some beautiful lucious locks on my head.

Peter Thomas Roth Mega-Rich Body Lotion

I am loving this body lotion. Thick and rich, yet is easily absorbed into my skin. No greasy residue and skin is super soft. This is pretty good stuff for hotel toiletries!

May 2017 Empties

without comments

First batch

St. Ives Refresh and Revive Pear Nectar & Soy Body Lotion

Another empties post and another St. Ives. I love this stuff and I keep going back for more.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP

Full review here. Finished 2 of these as they’re both in my room and the little guy’s room. I rarely use it except for when my hands are super dry. It’s mostly for my little guy after his bath time. His skin was so sensitive when he was a baby that this was the only body lotion/cream that he didn’t react to. Now that he’s older, his skin is still sensitive (but not so much as before) and we’ve been able to find another less expensive lotion that his skin can handle, however this will forever be remembered as a life saver for me.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Foaming Formula

Full review here. This still remains my favourite facial cleanser. I think I still have 2 more in the backup stash.

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener W

Full review here. Wonderful stuff and preps my skin for absorption of my serums and creams. You’ve probably noticed from my empties posts that I don’t stray very often from what I use. That’s because a) I tend to purchase multiples as backups when I find something I like, and b) I need to use up those backups before they expire or sit in my closet for too long.

Second batch

7th Heaven Glove Masques

Full review here. A great way to soften those hands in a jiffy!

Iope Plant Stem Cell Softener Skin Perfection

Received this as part of a sample pack when I bought my CC pact. Softens the skin great but it’s so thick it was difficult to get out of the bottle. Had to flip it upside down and carefully flick it out.

Iope Plant Stem Cell Emulsion Skin Perfection

This was also part of the sample pack along with the softener and cream. This was a lighter cream which was great for day time. Not as thick as a softener surprisingly, but gave ample moisturization.

Iope Plant Stem Cell Cream Skin Perfection

A very thick cream in which a little goes a long way. I’m not in love with it but I don’t hate it either. It was ok. I don’t think I’d purchase a full size of it.

Smashbox Camera BB Cream

I’ve had this forever and finally finished using it. It offers pretty decent coverage and stays on well during the day. The smell is a little off-putting (to me anyways) so I didn’t reach for it every single day. I think in the end, I prefer more sheer/light coverage foundations over medium/full coverage.

Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer

Had a little sample of this and love the glow I get! I’m not sparkly like a vampire, but it does give me a slight healthy glow. Might be picking this up in the future when I finish my current primer!

Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder

I love using this as a setting powder and it really does help set the makeup all day!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil x2

Good-bye Sabbath and Perversion. You guys were fantastic eye pencils and I love how pigmented you are. Also, the staying power is amazing – you don’t budge! One of the very few waterproof eye pencils that I’ve used that doesn’t transfer to my upper eyelid.

Shiseido Facial Cotton

Love this stuff. Need I say more?

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water

without comments

Disclaimer: I won these in a giveaway on Beautezine last year. All opinions are 100% my own.

Blue one dissolves waterproof makeup, pink one is regular

I won this last year and finally got around to using it. There are two versions of the Micellar Water. One is regular, and the other specifies that it will remove waterproof makeup.

The Packaging

Back of bottles

They’re fairly large bottles containing 400ml each of product. The bottles are made of sturdy, clear plastic with coloured tops for easy identification.

Pop tops

The tops pop off and you can immediately dispense the product. There is no safety seal here so you’ll have to hope nothing’s happened to the bottle prior to you receiving it.

The Product

Regular version – only one liquid layer here. Takes off makeup really well except for waterproof makeup. Love the clean, refreshing feeling you have afterwards. Best part is, no sticky feeling!

Waterproof version – you can see the bottle’s contents are biphasic. There exists two layers. However, the top layer is significantly less than the bottom layer (if you look at Lancôme’s Bi-Facil, the two layers are equal). Removes waterproof makeup like a dream. This is a wonderful alternative to Bi-Facil if the price tag prevents you from buying it. You get so much more for your buck here.

The Verdict

Garnier’s Micellar waters are awesome!! I would prefer to go with the waterproof version since it does double duty. Would definitely repurchase this again.

Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

without comments

A holy grail and must have!

I’ve used this for so long and have gone through so many bottles in my empties posts that it’s high time I finally wrote a proper review for it! Lancôme’s Bi-Facil is a holy grail amongst the beauty community and for good reason – it works SO well!

The Packaging

It’s in a pretty, clear, blue plastic bottle. The screw top lid is like a child-proof one, in that you need to press down before you twist to get it off. This is great security if you’re traveling and don’t want to risk it spilling all over your luggage.

Inner seal

As with all Lancôme products that I’ve tried, there’s an inner seal so you know it’s brand new and never been used!

Inner seal removed

Without the inner seal, it reveals a small hole to which you can dispense the product. Shake the bottle to mix up both liquids, then saturate a cotton pad.

The Product

Bi-Facil is biphasic, meaning there’s two types of liquids in the bottle, a lipid phase and a watery phase. The lipid phase is what gets all the make up off, including waterproof makeup! The watery phase will refresh and condition the skin, leaving you with a clean, non-greasy feeling.

The Verdict

It works. Seriously. It just works. Eye makeup? Gone. Waterproof eye makeup? Gone. At first, I thought it didn’t do so well with my Artliner, but found that if you saturate a cotton pad and hold it against the eye for a longer period of time, it comes off super easy. None of my makeup stands a chance against this beast. I’ve read that you can saturate a cotton tip for quick fixes, however, be wary when you do. Once you’ve taken off the “mistake,” it is difficult to get eyeshadow to adhere to the lid again.

Only a few things this time

Shiseido Facial Cotton

Am still loving these facial cottons. They are so incredibly soft and not prone to breaking apart when wet and in use. They also don’t leave stringy pieces on your face like some other cotton pads out there. What will I do when I run out of my backups??

Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum+

Found this at by luck at my local Marshall’s and decided to try it out. I know it’s discontinued recently but I doubt it’s expired that quickly. I didn’t notice any dramatic lightening of my dark spots but some of my lighter spots seemed

Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener Enriched W

Shiseido’s softeners are so fantastic that I had bought a couple from the last Shiseido sale. I’m hoping for another sale soon so I can stock up!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lychee Gel Softening Shower & Bath Gel

Got this in a Luxebox a long time ago. Finally getting around to using it now as part of my “shop my stash” initiative. Definitely smells sweet like lychees, and lathers really well. However, I didn’t find anything overly amazing about it.

Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

I keep saying a review of this is coming and I swear that it is! All you need to know is that this stuff is amazing and no wonder it’s one of Lancôme’s top-sellers.

Maybelline Baby Lips

Alas, my last Baby Lips and I’m so sad! I love the ones that go on clear because they’re perfect for tossing into my pocket at work. I only saw the Neon ones at the last L’Oreal sale so didn’t stock up on any.

September to December 2016 Empties

without comments

Happy New Year! It figures it takes me this long to get an empties post fully written. This year I’m “shopping my stash” so to say. No buying anything unless I’ve run out of it completely!

Sept to Dec 2016 Empties 1/4
Body lotions and creams

St. Ives Refresh & Revive Pear Nectar and Soy body lotion

One of my favourite body lotions and a constant staple in our backup stash. It’s more for daily maintenance of keeping skin hydrated. If I end up with very dry skin, I use something else to bring moisture back, and then I switch back to this to maintain it.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Lait

Did I ever mention that my little guy’s skin used to be super dry and flaky, and despite trying multiple different creams, it was only Lipikar Baume that made a difference? We’ve used it ever since, and over the summer, discovered Lipikar Lait, a lighter and less dense lotion. I’ve lost track how many bottles we’ve finished (at least 2) and with winter weather upon us, we’re back to Lipikar Baume. If your baby’s skin is very dry and you’re finding nothing works, give this one a try!

Lancôme Nutrix Royal Body Intense Lipid Repair Cream

Back at the end of October, we took a mini family vacation to Calgary. The city was gorgeous and all, but it wrecked havoc on our skin (I’m sure those hotel body lotions were partly to blame as those can’t hydrate anything). When I got back, I had extremely dry itchy skin. I rummaged through my stash and found this – it was from a gift with purchase a couple years ago that I had saved in case I had really dry itchy skin. With one application, I already noticed a difference in my skin. Boy was my skin parched! This little tube was enough to last me a full week and had completely revitalized my skin. Just as I had finished the tube, my skin was in a condition to jump back to my St. Ives body lotion. Amazing stuff!

L’Occitane Verveine Body Lotion

This was part of a gift set I had received last Christmas that I was saving (sense a trend here?). It has a light olive fragrance that isn’t overpowering at all. Like St Ives, it’s a maintenance body lotion rather than saving ultra dry skin. Good and I like it, but not for that price point.

L’Occitane Verveine Gel Creme Cooling Hand Cream Gel

I had this on my trip to Calgary and it definitely helped my poor dry hands. The cooling effect is pretty neat which caused me to think menthol was one of the ingredients. Indeed, peppermint oil is one of the ingredients listed. Took a little bit to get used to the gel texture, but in the end it worked.

Crabtree & Evelyn Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy – Avocado

I’ve been hanging onto this for such a long time! I’m glad I finally used it to the end. Love using this just before I go to sleep. The scent is moderate initially, but dissipates rather quickly.

Sept to Dec 2016 Empties 2/4
Cleansers

L’Occitane Verveine Shower Gel

I’m not a big shower gel user, but this was lovely to use. The light olive fragrance was just enough and my skin was soft and smooth even before I applied body lotion. It’s a small bottle (250ml) compared to drug store brands, but this lasted me a good 3 months.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser – foaming formula

Hands down my favourite facial cleanser of all time. Still use it daily. Full review here.

L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Scrub Cleanser

Trying to leave my review for the actual post, which has brewing for a couple months now.

Marcelle 3 in 1 Micellar Solution

Love this stuff! And the fact that it comes in a pump bottle like the giant Bioderma is an extra bonus. I find it works just as well as Bioderma, but at a fraction of the cost. Time to finish current stash before buying more, hehe.

Lancôme Crème Radiance Clarifying Cream-to-Foam Cleanser

Used this in the past but I don’t think I ever did a full write up of it. Really gets all the makeup off the face (with the exception of eyes as it’s not for eye use) and leaves skin feeling soft. Difficult to use in the winter, particularly if your place is cooler, as the cream is a bit firm to squeeze out. In warmer weather, it squeezes out fairly easily.

Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

How have I never written a full review on this one yet? Still my number one eye makeup remover. Will have to get on this immediately. Also love the mini bottles for traveling.

Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser

This was a Black Friday purchase from way back in 2015 I think. Yes, the stash yields some interesting treasures. Very strong citrus fragrance, but it doesn’t give me that “clean” feeling I like with my Neutrogena. Not likely to repurchase.

Sept to Dec 2016 Empties 3/4
Facial skincare

Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate

Full review here.

Shiseido Ibuki Protective Moisturizer SPF 18

Full review here.

Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched

A thicker moisturizer meant more night time use. It’s a great moisturizer that leaves my skin nicely hydrated and ready for the day. This is the 2nd of 3rd time I’ve repurchased it.

L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads

Full review coming soon!

L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Dual Overnight Moisturizer

Full review coming soon!

L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Daily Lotion

Full review coming soon!

Laneíge Perfect Renew Essence_EX

A tiny sample of Laneíge’s Perfect Renew Essence. I’m not entirely sure of it’s effects on my skin since the sample was so small, but my skin agrees with it and didn’t react.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids SPF 50

Since La Roche-Posay worked so well for my little guy’s skin, I didn’t hesitate to get a bottle of the sun screen for him too. It rubs in easily and doesn’t have that super greasy feel afterwards. I did purchase a bottle of Ombrelle for Kids for daycare reapplication use but I prefer slathering him with Anthelios before sending him off.

Shiseido Facial Cotton

Really good stuff. Love using it with Shiseido’s skin softeners. I refuse to use it for any other use (makeup removers, nail polish removers). It feels like such a luxury on the face!

Sept to Dec 2016 Empties 4/4
Makeup and random sample

Lancôme Teint Miracle

I’ve been using this light foundation for quite some time now. At one point, I had 3 bottles going on at once! One for the summer tan, one for the winter fairness. The third bottle was somewhere in between. In the end, I mixed both to get my current shade, and thus I’m working on my third bottle. Love that it’s light coverage and doesn’t leave me looking cakey.

Eucerin Calming Crème

This tiny little sample was from my doctor’s office. If your hands aren’t dry, you’ll find this extremely greasy. If your hands are super dry with cracked skin and is begging for moisture, this is the cream for you. It soaks in right away and your skin feels renewed. I dare say it rivals Lancôme’s Nutrix Royal Body Intense Lipid Repair Cream (minus the fragrance and cost point)!

December 2015 and January 2016 Empties

without comments

Lots of samples in these two months’ empties. Lots of samples used because I brought a ton of them with me during winter vacation. We all spent baby’s first Christmas in Vancouver!

Dec 2015 - Jan 2016 empties - part 1

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner

I think this came from an old Luxe Box but I’ve finally dug it out to use. I like that it has a pleasant mild fragrance as opposed to some hair products whose smell just hits you in the face. It doesn’t give you a crazy lather when wet, but just enough for you to think “it’s working”. I used this twice a week because I felt it gave my hair a better clean than my current shampoo and conditioner combo. I like this, but can’t bring myself to spend so much on shampoo and conditioner.

Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30 High Potency Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Full review of the cream version here. The lotion is lighter and is a great daily moisturizer. Bonus points for not smelling like sunscreen and no greasy feeling either.

Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate and Refining Moisturizer

Full review of both here. These little deluxe samples are awesome for traveling. They also last a long time too! I love the Ibuki line.

Laneige Light Power Essential Skin Refiner

Full review here.

Lancôme Génifique and Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate

Full review here. There’s a difference between Génifique and Advanced Génifique which I explained in the review, and I used to prefer the former over the latter. Now, I like the Advanced Génifique and continue to use it to this day. Faithful user since 2011!

Benefit Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer

Full review here. I’ve had this sitting in my makeup bin forever and had completely forgotten it. I’m pretty sure I finished it before I gave birth so… this empty has been sitting around for a year. Oops.

Dec 2015 - Jan 2016 empties - part 2

Shiseido Facial Cotton

This stuff is like angel fluff on your face. Which is probably why I’m so stingy when it comes to using it. I actually save it to use with Shiseido softening products. Everything else (especially nail polish remover!), I use regular cotton pads. I don’t buy these often, but it’s more of a treat once in a while.

Naisture 15minutes: Mask Pack – Sweet Honey and Fresh Aloe

I’ve been trying to get through these face masks for the last few months when baby’s sleeping, but I keep getting side tracked with other things! These masks are pretty good, and make my face feel fresh and nicely hydrated. It won’t make your super dry skin suddenly supple and soft, but it does give your skin a nice dose of hydration.

Neutrogena Make-Up Removing Cleansing Wipes

These are a must for traveling. Everything comes off. Even waterproof eyeliner.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Ébène

Full review here. This took me so long to finish because I kept on saving it for special occasions. It was my first Chanel purchase and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to go through it too quickly. Also, it helped that black eyeliner is not my everyday colour. I wanted to love it, but it doesn’t stay put on my eyelids, even if I used an eyelid primer. Probably will not repurchase this.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition

This was my every day liner for work. Not too bold, but just enough for definition. Have a few more 24/7 pencils to get through. There’s a little bit of transfer to upper eyelids but they don’t come down and give me racoon eyes. +1 for me.

Dec 2015 - Jan 2016 empties - part 3

Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector and Advanced Multi-Correcting Cream

These samples were so small that I can’t really form a full opinion on it. Fragrance is pleasant but as for its claims to battle wrinkles, pores, and evenness, I couldn’t see any effect. The samples lasted me 2 days.

Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate and Refining Moisturizer

See above review.

Lancôme DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector in 1 – Fair Skin Tone

This is obviously the wrong skin tone for me (fair? Hah!) but it was a sample from Sephora that was randomly added in so I figured I would try it. Again, sample was too small for me to see any effect. The floral fragrance was nice and not too heavy. For the price point, I would need a lot of people vouching for it before I could bring myself to purchase it.

**On a side note, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to work through my stash rather than buy new things to try. This will likely translate into more empties. Wish me luck!

October and November 2015 Empties

without comments

Whoops! The pictures I originally took got erased by accident (Mr reformatted the memory card without making sure everything was offloaded) so this post will be text heavy. I will indicate what was full size and what was sample size.

[Edit: Jan 9th, 2016 – Pictures have been found!! Post updated to include pictures and remove sample count in text.]

Oct - Nov 2016 Empties part 1

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX

Full review here. I love this stuff. I use this mini jar for traveling hence why it took so long to get through. Still going through the regular size jar, plus I now have 2 more mini jars thanks to my good friend G!

Evolvh UltraShine Moisture Shampoo

I got this in a Luxebox and was immediately disappointed it didn’t come with the accompanying conditioner. The shampoo itself was pretty good – I felt it really washed all the grease and grime away leaving me with squeaky clean hair. I used it twice a week just to make sure my hair was super clean. Would I purchase a full size? Probably not as I don’t usually indulge in hair treatments. I’m a shampoo and conditioner only kind of gal.

Lancôme Tonique Radiance

Full review here. Still have two more backups (or was that three?).

Oct - Nov 2016 Empties part 2

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for normal to dry skin

The best part of getting multiple samples is the chance to really use a product. This sample was only 0.18oz, which is barely enough to moisturize my arms. Since I had 5 of them, I had no problem moisturizing my entire body (arms, torso, legs). There is an ever so slightly sticky feeling immediately after applying, however it goes away fairly quickly. Skin is left smooth and soft. Very little scent, if any. Great for those who want a great budget moisturizer with sensitivities to fragrances.

Softlips Lip Moisturizer SPF 20 in Watermelon

This is my absolute favourite lip moisturizer. I don’t know why I never did a full review on the blog about this. Watermelon is one of my favourite scents for this. The small and thin size make it perfect to toss into any bag (or pocket!) and it works so well when my lips are dry and chapped. I’ve got 2 more backups.

Live Clean (Baby) moisturizing baby lotion

I know, it’s supposed to be for baby but I used it on myself instead. Although it moisturized well, the smell was atrocious. I can’t imagine using this on my baby. Never. Ever. Not until they get rid of that horrible smell.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks

Only one little sample so can’t say much about how it did for stretch marks. It did, however, smell too strongly of cocoa and the smell lingered too long for my liking. Will not be purchasing this.

Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream

I’m trying to remember if I got this in a beauty box or a Sephora order. Regardless, it is the best damn sample I have ever received. This eye cream is amazingly and I love it. The fact that it’s a 7ml sample that lasted me over 2 months of use (usually at night) was already a winner.  Add in the fact that when looking at how much it costs in regular size, this little deluxe sample is actually worth $50!

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate

Full review here. Again, I love sample sizes specifically for travel.

Managed a few big things this month

Laneige Light Balancing Emulsion

Full review currently cooking on the back burner. Another product from Laneige that is for the oily-combination skin types. This was perfect for me in the summer as I was able to get just enough hydration into my skin without overdoing it. It definitely would not be enough hydration in the drying winter months – just to keep in mind.

Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital 30 SPF High Potency Daily Moisturizing Cream

Full review here.

Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched

This is currently one of my favourite night creams. Have another on backup already!

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser – foaming formula

Full review here.

DSC_2170
Plus getting through some of the sample stash too

Naisture 15minutes: mask pack – Moisture Green tea

I’m finally getting around to using these masks! I purchased a bunch of these Naisture masks a couple years ago when I went on vacation to San Francisco. These are made in Korea and I can’t find much info about them. A full review is cooking while I go through the rest of them. In short, I do like these masks and would get more if I could!

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream

I had a full review of the Gel Cream version here. This is the Moisture Cream version. It is very hydrating, and would work well in the dry winter time for intense moisturizing. It’s a bit heavy for summer time unfortunately.

Laneige Perfect Renew Dual Touch Eyes

I definitely left this sample around too long because I wasn’t able to use the day side. This sample had two wells – one each for day and night. The day side (which contains SPF 25) was dried up and unusable. The night side was still good and hydrated my eyes nicely. N0t sure if I would purchase this as I usually like to use a day cream with SPF instead of multiple products that have SPF in it.

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging & Intensive Repair Eye Serum

I got a sample of this from a Luxe Box and it’s quite nice. It is hydrating, however I definitely can not justify the price tag. $155 for 15ml?? No thanks. I’ve definitely used other eye creams for significantly less and does just the same.

Murad Clarifying Wipes for blemish-prone skin

Another sample from Luxe Box. I wouldn’t recommend this at all. I don’t have blemish-prone skin but even for those that do, I strongly suggest you use something else. For one thing, it burns. All I did was wipe my face lightly with it and my face felt like it was on fire. It turned red and and quite warm to touch. Am never using this again. My skin did not like it at all.

Murad Pore & Line Minimizing Hydrator

And another sample from Luxe Box. It’s hard to say whether this did anything as it was pretty much a one time use. Also, my skin was still burning from the above clarifying wipes so I can’t give a proper review. One thing I did notice was the smell – it had a very strong plastic smell (almost nauseating for me) and that was enough to turn me away from it.

February 2015 Empties

February 2015 Empties

Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Soothing Lotion in honey

Full review here.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser foaming formula

I absolutely love this facial cleanser and have been using it for over a year. Look out for a full review coming soon!

The Body Shop Almond Conditioning Hand Wash

I originally used this a couple years ago when my eczema was really bad, and then stopped using it for unknown reasons. I’ve since rediscovered it and love it again. Look for a full review on this coming soon as well.

Lancôme Génefique Eye Youth Activating Eye Concentrate

I received this as part of a gift with purchase from The Bay. It lasted me quite a while (almost a month!) and definitely kept my eye area nicely hydrated, but I haven’t really noticed any anti-aging changes. I don’t have any eye wrinkles to begin with, so perhaps it’s more of a preventative measure.
